- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (stored as a secure hash).
- Documents and Text: When you use the Service, you may upload PDF files or paste text for analysis. See Section 4 for how we handle this data.
- Payment Information: Payment details (credit card numbers, billing addresses) are collected and processed directly by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: We collect anonymous usage data through Vercel Analytics, including page views, navigation patterns, and general traffic metrics. This data does not identify individual users.
- Log Data: Our servers may automatically record information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, and timestamps. This data is used for security and operational purposes.
- Cookies: We use essential cookies to maintain your authentication session. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
- Process your contract analyses and deliver results.
- Process payments and manage subscriptions.
- Authenticate your identity and maintain your session.
- Communicate with you about your account, transactions, or changes to the Service.
- Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve the Service.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. How We Handle Your Documents
Your documents are sensitive. Here is how we handle them:
- Processing: Documents and text you submit are sent to a third-party AI provider (Moonshot AI / Kimi) for analysis. The text is transmitted securely and used solely to generate your analysis.
- Storage: We store a hash (digital fingerprint) of your document and the resulting analysis in our database so you can access your scan history. We do not store the full text of your original document on our servers after analysis is complete.
- No Sharing: We do not sell, rent, or share the content of your documents with any third party, except as necessary to provide the analysis (i.e., transmission to the AI provider).
- No Training: We do not use the content of your documents to train AI models.
- AI Provider: Our AI analysis is powered by Moonshot AI. Their processing of your text is subject to their own privacy policy and terms. We select providers that commit to not using customer data for model training.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing their handling of your data. We encourage you to review them.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
- Secure password hashing.
- Row-level security policies on our database.
- Regular security reviews.
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
7. Data Retention
- Account Data: Retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time.
- Scan Results: Analysis results are retained in your account history until you delete them or close your account.
- Payment Records: Transaction records are retained as required by tax and financial regulations (typically 7 years).
- Log Data: Server logs are retained for up to 90 days for security purposes.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data and account.
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format.

11. Do Not Track
We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
